Track Day at Croft Circuit, Darlington 5th May 2013
The Jaguar Drivers Club Area 11invited the TR Register, TYMC and the RREC North Eastern Section to join them on their track day at Croft Circuit near Darlington. The track day saw over 30 cars and drivers registered to take part, along with many classic vehicles displayed along the edge of the paddock. Many spectators just called in for an hour or so to see what was going on, or stayed for most of the day to enjoy the action and the huge array of cars on display or out on the track. After a safety briefing, drivers took their own cars for a spin around the circuit; cars of all ages and models took part, including 'C' Type, 'E' Type Jaguars, TRís Mini Metros and Jim Clark in his 1997 Bentley, which was a sight to behold. With lots of track time, clear weather and a lot of socialising amongst all the participants and visitors, it was generally agreed to be our best track day to date said Geoff Mansfield, Chairman of the JDC. Croft is a great place to exercise your classic or modern day car and one of the best aspects of the day was the relaxed atmosphere in the paddock as everybody mingles, checking out the cars and discussing the on-track antics. What a difference blue skies and sunshine can make, it was great to see the big boys smiling faces after they had blown the cobwebs from their big toys.
